Heritage runners prepare for Foxhall state qualifier

Heritage High School of Conyers heads to the GHSA Class 6A sectional at Foxhall Resort in Douglasville on Saturday, Oct. 31, with state qualification at stake. Heritage belongs to the sectional group covering Regions 3, 4, 7 and 8.

Alexander High School hosts the meet at Foxhall Resort, 8000 Capps Ferry Road, Douglasville, GA 30135. The group’s qualifying boys and girls races are scheduled for 8:45 a.m. and 10 a.m., respectively. Times are targets; officials must clear the course before each race.

Abigail Flowers is Heritage’s lone listed entrant in the girls’ qualifying race. She is entered in the Girls 5,000 Meter Run Top 7.

The top 12 teams in each sectional advance to state. The top 20 boys and top 20 girls in each sectional’s qualifying races advance to state, regardless of whether their teams qualify. Only the Top 7 races determine advancement; Second 7 races do not.
